The Perfect Hard Boiled Egg
The Perfect Hard Boiled Egg
Making hard boiled eggs seems like one of the easiest food items a person can prepare. They are quick to cook and great for a grab-and-go meal or snack to help get that extra protein in. Cooking hard boiled eggs may be easy, but there is a trick to getting the shell off and cutting into a beautiful and soft yellow yolk.
Here is my trick to how I make the perfect hard boiled egg:
Ingredients
Eggs – I tend to cook 2-4 at a time
Pot of Water
Baking Soda (about 1 tbsp)
Wooden Spoon
Directions
Fill a pot with water just enough so the eggs are completely covered.
Add in a few sprinkles of Baking Soda (about 1 tablespoon) and bring the pot of water to a boil.
Drop the eggs in with a wooden spoon and lay the wooden spoon across the pot (this will keep the water from boiling over).
Set a timer for 10 minutes.
Once the timer goes off, immediately remove the pot from the heat, dump out the hot water and replace with cold water and ice. Let the eggs sit in the pot for about 5-10 more minutes.
Once they have cooled just enough, run them over cold water, peel the shell and enjoy!
